Thank you for visiting BitterZen.com.
BitterZen, LLC was founded by Jody Kleist in 2022 in the foothills of Colorado. She has been enjoying cocktails for a lot of years and is always looking for new and exciting recipes. Sometimes the recipe just needs a little pizzazz. That’s where the BitterZen bitters come in.
Our bitters are hand-crafted in small batches with locally sourced, organic ingredients whenever available.
We’ve experimented with several flavors. Some turn out, others not so much. The really good ones we’re sharing with you!
We are always open to suggestions for new and different flavors. Just send us an email with your ideas. We can’t guarantee they will all be attempted, but we’ll try.
We think you'll enjoy our bitters in your favorite cocktail as well as any other beverages or recipes you might have. Try them in cookies, cakes, donuts!! Just a few drops can change your recipe from good to GREAT!!

Zentini
2 oz Vodka
2 oz Lime flavored seltzer
1/2 tsp BitterZen Ginger Bitters
1 Generous drop Agave
Stir gently and serve in chilled glass
For a spicy Zentini, substitute BitterZen Jefe's Jalapeno Bitters
Margarita
2 parts Tequila
1 part fresh lime juice
1 part Triple Sec or Orange Liqueur
Splash of fresh orange juice
3-4 drops BitterZen Jefe's Jalapeno Bitters
Zen Julep
8 mint leaves
1/4 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces bourbon
6 - 8 dops of BitterZen's Spruce Tip Bitters (to taste)
Garnish: mint sprig
Steps
In a rocks glass, lightly muddle the mint leaves in the simple syrup and BitterZen
Spruce Tip Bitters.
Add the bourbon then pack the glass tightly with crushed ice.
Garnish with a mint sprig and a few additional drops of BitterZen Spruce Tip Bitters.
Purple Pirate
2 oz Spiced Rum
1/2 Peach
1/2 cup Blueberries
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
BitterZen Palisade Peach Bitters to taste
Ice
Plain Selzer Water
Place all ingredients except Selzer Water in blender. Blend until smooth. Pour in glass and top with Selzer Water. Garnish with Peach slice.
Fuzzy Mule
2 oz Bourbon
1 oz Ginger Beer
BitterZen Palisade Peach Bitters to taste
Add Bourbon, ginger beer and bitters into shaker filled with ice. Shake, then strain over ice into highball glass. Garnish with mint sprig.
